The City As Ecosystem

Can cities and nature coexist? This course provides a foundation in ecosystem ecology and explores the sustainable use of energy and resources in urban and agricultural settings. Topics include ecosystem services, global change, and the integration of environmental, economic, and social concerns.  Emphasis on information and science literacy, civic ethic, and sense of place.
